This small tree is in my front yard. It's beginning to flower and leaf with beautiful carnation like pink flowers and red-tinged/bronze leaves. Does anyone know its ID? I have a couple guesses, but am not completely certain.

I'am not sure what it is, but it is a pretty one. Wish I had one in my yard.

Definitely looks like a Cherry. Try Prunus Kanzan, which has double pink flowers and leaf colour fits. Camellias normally evergreen.

I'd agree with Prunus 'Kanzan'. The crown shape also fits as well as the flowers and leaf colour.

Thank you for your responses. The Kanzan was one of my guesses. That or the Rose Tree of China/prunus triloba -- the two seem an awful lot alike. I'm wondering if this tree is unhealthy the way it is growing. It definitely needs pruning. We just moved to this house, and I am so happy to have such a pretty tree.

Prunus triloba 'Multiplex' is a sprouting shrub. 'Kanzan' is a medium-growing tree.
