This is all around my front porch, in my vegetable garden (along with many other weeds, at this point) and seems more like a vine than anything else. It's a beautiful bloom, but I'm not certain I can call it a 'bloom' since what is on the end of the stem seems to be more like little seed pods. I can roll the seeds out by rubbing the 'bloom' between my fingers. There's not really petals, just more like a colored 'husk' for lack of better explanation. I think I would like to make a border around my greenhouse with it, but I am worried it may just take over the entire place. Please someone tell me what it is so maybe I can learn more about it's qualities. Makes a good ground cover.

One of the common weedy annual knotweed species.

Thank you. I had not found a picture similar to the plants I have.
