Hi, I live in northern New Jersey and my children and I are casual gardeners. We like to let some plants go to seed and see what happens again in the spring. This has resulted in lots of flowering turnip plants all over the yard last year!
Please help up identify these backyard plants.
There is a purplish stem with small green leaves, leaves seem eaten up by cabbage moths, no observable flowers. We think the groundhog has also been eating this plant.
The next has green stem, larger green leaves with tiny white flowers with a yellow center, and small green berries that turn dark purple. There are also 2 fat Swallowtail? caterpillars under the leaves.
    Thank you!

The first two pictures is Chenopodium, the third is something in the Nightshade family.
