This strange, small, rubbery orange vine is choking several of my lavender plants. I noticed a little of it when I got them from the nursery a few weeks ago, but it has gotten much worse. It has no leaves. It appears to have no roots. It has small clusters of bland, pale berries. It is rubbery and easy to break, but impossible to completely remove when it is wound around a lavender branch. Any idea what it is -- or more important, how to eradicate it without harming the lavender? Thanks!

Yep, I'm sure that's it. Unfortunately -- looks like no easy way to get rid of it.

    Thanks for the info.

The nursery shouldn't be selling infected stock like this. Send the infected plants back to the nursery and demand uninfected replacements under their guarantee. And inspect the replacements closely before accepting them!

Also make sure that none of the dodder berries/seeds are left lying where you want to put the new plants.
