I am looking into this for a friend. They have continued to "hack it down" so I am assuming it is a tree. They live in WV. The only other thing I know is that the leaves close up a bit at night or when it rains. I've been stumped looking it up for almost 2 hours now. Thank you so much for any help!!

Sorry about the links. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to put the pictures in here!

Just talked to my friend and she said that it grows like a bush, not like a tree...Thanks again! I really appreciate any help!

Thanks. That's what I thought too but whenever I looked it up online the leaves appeared more rounded. Perhaps it was a different type? Oh well! Thanks so much for your help!

I'm not convinced it's Albizia julibrissin either, the leaves look a bit too long and slender for that. Something closely related though.
