    FLOWER.jpg Hi everyone, FLOWER2.jpg

I am desperately trying to find out what this flower is - it comes up every summer in my mother's flower bed and we have no idea what it is. It looks like a type of lily, asiatic mainly, and it's a pretty bubble gum pink with some yellow in the center, the stem is very long, probably about 16" - 18" long and there are no leaves or foliage along it with the cluster of flowers at the very top. I hope the pic is clear and large enough...

I would so appreciate any info!

    Thanks!!!

Naked Ladies (Lycoris squamigera) is more common on this side of the pond.

Thank you saltcedar. You are spot on. I had not come across Lycoris squamigera before. Gosh aren't they similar! Reading up about the 2, it would seem that the easy ID feature is the filaments. In the Lycoris the filaments stick out beyond the petals, while in the Amarylis they are shorter. See.......

Adding a close up of Amaryllis belladonna for comparison. See....

Amaryllis has a more symmetric flower shape, without the gap at the bottom.
