They are both evergreen trees, and the second one has a nice smell, much like cedar when trimmed. -Chandler
Abelia most likely grandiflora second is a Thuja i think, im sure some of the conifer experts will be along to confirm or deny that, it could be a Chamaecyparis (i usually smell the difference)

#2 is definitely Thuja occidentalis (Arborvitae). Not necessarily 'Globosa'; it has been sheared, which means the shape is not its natural shape.
