I have emailed different nurseries to get help in identifying these two plants. I just moved into this house 3 months ago, and I noticed that this shrub, or short tree is starting to sprout purple flowers. It is pretty, but I do not know what it is. I also got this plant for valentine's day that is a yellow "Rose Flower" but I can't find information on it anywhere. What is the scientific name for that??

    Please help.

Could well be Magnolia liliiflora, one of the parents of M. × soulangeana, as the flowers are so dark.

The images are very small. The yellow-flowered plant might be Kalanchoe.

Thank you! the purple budding shrub is a magnolia. It is one of the smaller species! I always wanted a magnolia, and now I have one in my new yard.
