Please help me identify this plant(image)

    Please help me identify this plant. I was told it was a weed, but I am not sure. I have provided a picture of the leaf and if you would like I can get a picture of the whole plant.

    Looks like potentilla. This grows as a weed in many areas and is common in gardens. Look at this link for Potentilla recta L..
