I have discovered a plant outside growing mostly in the shade of a tree and multiflora rose bushes. It is rather tall 3' or so. It has large shiny leaves similar to rubber plant leaves. There are about five leaves in a grouping. It has one bloom right now, I can see another bud. This bloom is similar to a closed tulip only bigger. It is pure white and smells WONDERFUL; almost gardenia like or perfume from a bottle.
Can anyone tell me what it is...can I transplant it... bring it inside...How do I care for it. It has obviously done well all by itself.
I am in MD - halfway between Baltimore and DC.
    Thanks

Sounds like southern magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora).
