I found this in my pasture this weekend. It is the first time I have seen it there and was wondering if someone would indentify it. It is growing in a very wet marshy area and is standing in about an inch of water. I don't know if it normally grows in water or it is just in water because we have had a very wet spring. The leaves at the base of the plant are very pale green.
Very nice, the insect-eating Pinguicula caerulea or blue butterwort (another photo of it and some its relatives on Botany Photo of the Day).
Thanks for replying so quickly. I am excited to have this plant in my pasture. This is such a wonderful site.
