I have a plant growing in my back garden which I suspect may have come from my parrot's seeds.

It has a many petaled spikey bright orange flower of about 3cms in diameter, the flower grows directly on top of a dark green bulb (wich resembles an onion) right at the top of the plant.

It has a long stem with dark green longish leaves that are smooth
and hairless, the leaves grow alternately around the stem and are up to 7 or 8cms long.

    Any help appreciated,
