Please, help identify this plant

    I photographed this plant in Birmingham Alabama in Sept, 2007. I could find no indication as to the name of the plant. I believe the proper description of the leaves would be digitate and whorled. The color in the attached photograph is reasonable accurate.

    leaves are simple palmate with serrate margins and occur alternately
