Hi there: While wondering through the woods I came across this plant. I am quite often in the woods and have never seen this plant b4. I wondered if someone could help identify it. It is approximately 5 feet high. The tip of the plant where small berries are located form one large cone shape. The branch has 5 large independant leaves. The leaf formation on the branchs are as follows. One seperate leaf top of branch and then two leaves, one on each side of the branch. Below another 2 leaves one on each side of the branch. The leaves are shaped similiar to a poplar. The stalk is quite thick and has small hairs on it somewhat like a sumac.
    I hope this helps

    Thanks,
    Deborah

A better photo of the fruit might help. Aralia hispida, perhaps?
