    Can't say what they are, but the neither looks like a Ribes. The top one most emphatically, it having opposite leaves of the wrong shape.

    Ribes is the genus of currants and gooseberries. Fuchsia is another, different genus.

    R. speciosum has been called fuchsia-flowered gooseberry due to its pendent reddish flowers. It is native to a small range in California, and produces small fairly typical gooseberry leaves.

    Second one might be a Hibiscus? Far from certain though.

    Yes: I was going to suggest H. syriacus until I saw that the upper right leaf in particular appears to be compound.
