I recently planted strawberries in some old garden baskets. Right beside the strawberry plant, another plant(weed?) popped up. Showed up maybe 2 weeks ago and grows very fast.....anyway it looks like a garden plant I've seen before....can someone help? Pictures attached.

the id is correct. it is considered a weed.

it IS edible - in a salad raw and i think you can make a tea from it too.

Hello! I cannot believe I stumbled on this question! I have been fighting this weed all summer and at the same time wondering what it was. I have never seen as much of it as I have seen this summer and it is hard to pull due to the fact that it has a fleshy stem. Even when you think you got the root, it insists on coming back! Thanks for asking your question. I have just discovered this website and it is AWESOME!
