plant in eastern sierra nevada,CA

    Observed this plant on 8-29-06 about 10:30am in the Eastern Sierra Nevada range in California, near Sonora Pass, Silver creek area, about 9000ft, northwest side of mountain, pine forest, not wetland.

    Hello, Michael F., thank you very much for your quick and accurate response, this was not idenified by the local forestry service personnel or myself after spending much of my life on vacation in the region. I found a photo under the S. racemosa L. online http://www.humboldt1.com/~popenoe/plants/elderberry.htm which matches my photo.
