Shot in the dark but I was selling my grandmothers house and I collected seeds from her garden in hopes of planting some of her garden at my house to remember her! She lived in Tulelake, CA. It is something she planted so I don't think it is native necessarily. The seeds inside were numerous, black almond shaped, and about the size of the tip of a ball point pen. The plant was dried out from winter but it was about two feet tall. Here is a photo of the pod. If nobody knows I suppose I will do my best to plant the seeds and see what happens :)
