While visiting the Vancouver area last August/September I saw these red flowers at Stanley Park. I'd love to grow them in Rochester, NY, but do not know what they are. Would someone help to identify? Thank-you.

Looks like a red selection of Dahlia 'Bishop's Children' to me. I emailed Stanley Park to see if they can identify it for us.

    It is lovely.

Yes, that certainly looks like the one. Should grow well in Rochester.

Thank-you! I've always wanted to learn more about growing Dahlias, so here's my motivation!

Doesn't look like the Most Rev. Dr. Barry Morgan (Bishop of Llandaff) to me . . .

Brian Quinn, Foreman of Stanley Park Maintenance, Vancouver Park Board confirmed that the plant is indeed Dahlia 'Bishop of Llandaff', (although there is a bit of confusion on the cultivar name--not an infrequent occurrence.)

For visitors to Stanley Park, the plants featured there and in other Vancouver parks are grown at the city of Vancouver's nursery, Sunset Nursery.
