Plant identification

    This plant has whitish bulbs. Broad green leaves and tends to die off when it gets too hot. Thought they may flower but have not seen any over the years . Bulbs left in ground by previous owner . I am curious what is this bulb and will it flower . I thought it was Lily of the Valley but they are rhizomes and not bulbs

    Oh by the way I actually just dug them up today and potted some thinking if they could indoor plants ? Otherwise they are out in by back yard

    Colchicum autumnale, perhaps? Do you recall seeing autumn-flowering crocuses?

    I just saw my friend's autumn-flowering crocuses yesterday, thought of this posting but hadn't got around to finding it again.
    Hint: it's easier for people (and you) to find previous postings if there is something in the subject line that says what it's about.
