    Hi all,

I am very inexperienced in plant ID and was hoping I could get some help identifying the trees below. I apologize if these pictures are low quality or not enough to go on for identification, but any help is greatly appreciated.

These pictures were taken at Townshend State Forest, in Townshend, VT (Southern Vermont) on the Bald Mountain Trail.

I only have photos of the bark for the species in question. Sorry I don't have more for you to go on, I know how frustrating a lack of information can be.

    Thanks,
    Kayla

I just realized I should have been more descriptive with my title, apologies!

Third pic (Species 3.jpg) is a beech, presumably American Beech Fagus grandifolia.

Could it be a birch in the last two pictures? Betula lenta?

I'd be fairly certain about 4/5 being a Betula, yes.

Thank you! Any clues as to the first two pictures (both the same tree)?
