I'm having a hard time identifying a couple plant species. They may be weeds, but that's fine, it's completly ok and part of the experiment, however, I would greatly appreciated any thoughts on thier possible identity. Some of these pics I know are a tad fuzzy, it's pretty windy so there's a bit of a blurr.

The second picture I can't seem to figure out what that purple flower is, looks like Prunella vulgaris but I'm not convinced, key traits are missing.

Now the 3rd and forth picture are of the same plant, but you can see the wrap around from the leaf onto the stem and the sharp points at the end of the lobe.

    #2 is Verbena sp.
    #5 looks like Conyza canadensis
    #6 Acalypha sp.

Excellent, I agree with verdana sp. for 2, I was a bit tired that day and I don't know how I could've missed it

3 &4 still elude me, however I concluded that it has divided clasping alternating leaves at the base with 5 part regular flowers in a panicle.

Again, thank you on the verdana and aclypha, now I can research the specific species.

I think 3 and 4 pictures wall lettuce: Lactuca muralis or least lettuce: Lactuca saligna. I have The Oxford Book of Wild Flowers, from 1962; depiction is on page 41. So did this weed come to Canada from Britain?

I'm sorry, but if you haven't noticed, Lactuca saligna is a species of plant with white or yellow flowers that has a composed flower with indistinguishable parts whereas this one has only 5.

I agree with lactuca sp. so I guess that's as close as I'll get unless someone else wants a shot at it
