Plant Identification: #1

Hi!
Would appreciate it if someone would provide the name of this plant. Thanks in advance!

ps: WCutler: what is the name of the pretty white flowers you have as your logo/icon on this forum.

 

Of note The height of the plant currently is 1 foot and leaf length is 2 1/2". No buds showing yet.

 

@8Peonies, the white flowers are on a 'Shirotae' cherry tree. There are zillions of photos posted under VCBF Neighbourhood Blogs | UBC Botanical Garden Forums, in the various neighbourhood threads. Likely to be a perennial aster.
