Hi, I have a shrub in the back garden which I would like to identify. It is approximately 5-feet tall in a shaded area. Attached are pictures of the full plant, a close-up of the leaves and some of the dead flowers (most have been pruned by now), and the base of the plant. The flowers were a dark pink colour and bloomed in about May. Could this be a type of Weigela? It did not produce many flowers (perhaps due to location in the shade). Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you!
