    Hi,

I'm a complete noob at plant identification, or I would have looked for a flower to go with my leaf, but oh well.

So, I was in Watershed Park this morning (North Delta) and saw some plants about 4 feet high with broad leaves. I've attached a picture. I don't know how to describe the characteristics of this leaf in botanical speak, so my internet search failed. :(

I can say that the leaves were arranged alternately on their stem, and that the stem was hollow and had tiny little red blotches all over it. Neither the leaf nor the stem had hairs of any kind. It was in a wet area, with tall trees and ferns all around.

    Thanks,

    Paddington.

Looks and sounds like Japanese Knotweed.
