    Hi

Can anyone Id this cutting it was located in someone's front garden but I have seen it growing wild in the area I live! You can't see from the cutting but it produces pleasant purple pink flowers! The flowers when expired seem to produce some sort of pea or bean pod.

I find it quite attractive when in bloom but each time I have passed them I've been without phone or camera. I was just wondering if it was and ornamental, edible, annual or perennial etc.

It seems to have tentacles (I know that's not the correct term doh) similar to a passion fruit climber but not sure if they serve the same purpose?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

Looks like Lathyrus odoratus...commonly called Sweet pea.
A beautiful ornamental flower with a gorgeous scent.
Grown in UK as an annual.

It uses the tentacles..or tendrils to climb up bamboo/fences etc.

There is also perennial sweet pea Lathyrus latifolius. However, flowers are not so scented.
