I am wondering what kind of shrub/tree this is. B.

I take it this is not growing in 100 Mile House. It looks like a callistemon with fruit. That fruit spike would have been the "bottle brush".

Thank you very much Eric. I looked it up and it appears that it is a Zone 9 plant, but obviously it likes the Horseshoe Bay area in West Vancouver where it is growing outside overlooking the ocean.
It definitely would not grow up here in 100 Mile. We're Zone 3-A. If I brought one up it would jump out of the pot and run back down to California.
I've looked at a number of plants as an arborist working in the Chilliwack area, but I've never seen a Callistemon plant. Although if I had taken note, I could possibly have seen a specimen in a greenhouse.
    Much appreciated! Bruce Broughton.
