This is a close-up shot of a plant I found in Aden. They say, here it is used as a treatment for high blood pressure. Any thoughts to share? The name in English? The botanical name??
Yay! My brain is WORKing today! Went into the far reaches to retrieve this name...hee hee: Hibiscus sabdariffa, Roselle. http://www.seedtosupper.com/okra.html#Roselle http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial_s&q=Hibiscus+sabdariffa&btnG=Search
Howdy Arunkumarng, Rosemarie is correct in her indentifcation. Roselle is planted for its swollen bracts and young leaves. Bracts are harvested and dried and used as tea. Heard it's popular in Jamaica. It is pretty close to black currants in taste and aroma. Young leaves are harvested and cooked as a vegetable. Peace Pheh
