Pink flowering shrub in Victoria BC

Hello All

I was sent this photo by a friend in Victoria BC trying to identify the shrub.

It is in full sun well drained soils and flowers mid to late spring through into summer.

I have no idea where to start looking for the ID

if you can help me that would be great

Tamarix sp.

 

Agree with Tamarix sp. (tamarisk).

Can be invasive, tho' shouldn't be too bad in the Victoria area.

 

Unwanted reproduction seen mostly in arid regions.

Wow that's what I call a feature plant in that garden. And a good sized one too!

:))) I think it's not very interesting who, when, why IDed it, only THE PLANT IS INTERESTING... :)

 

Tamarix, and a nice one at that! Usually they are scraggly little sticks in the nursery.
