I'm trying to identify a small herb-like plant I've seen on several occasions in New Orleans City Park during the Spring. About a foot tall with leaves that resemble parsley. The flowers are tiny (maybe 1/8 inch across), white and appear in small clusters on the end of a single stem. The fruit is an elongated pod. Photos attached. Thank you for your help.

Yes, related to parsley. Look into resources for the umbellifer family (Apiaceae) for your region. Sorry, I'm away from my typical resources, otherwise I'd try to narrow it down for you.

    Thanks for the replies.

It looks very much like Chaerophyllum tainturieri from what I've been able to find on the web. There seem to be some subtle differences in Chaerophyllum species but I don't have the plant on hand right now to try and figure those out.

Does anyone have an opinion about the edibility of Chaerophyllum tainturieri ?

Unless you can find a verified source, I wouldn't dare. There are several very toxic plants in this family.
