My Lady Slipper has bloomed. Could anyone give me the exact ID? Could it be Paphiopedilum Stonei? It is Originated from Bau, about an hour drive from Kuching, South East Borneo. The photo here: http://www.geocities.com/ycwee/paph061206.html
I am no expert on Paphiopedilum but I have the book The Slipper Orchids by Cash which covered all species at its date of publication (1991), and your plant looks closer to P. stonei than to any other species illustrated there. And you are doubtless aware that this species is endemic to Sarawak. It is described as being quite variable. The few, rather obscure stripes on the short, wide dorsal sepal look to be its distinctive feature.
Hi Tony, Yup, my paph is almost identical to paph. Stonei, the only different is that in my reference photo, the petal is much longer.
