Looks more like Heliopsis helianthoides to me, but an image with leaves and unfolding flowers would be useful for identification.
Perhaps this will give you a better idea. If not, I will try to hunt down the flowers and take another shot. Thanks, David
i also believe your plant is helianthus, i have some different types in my perennial garden and it looks very familar.also known as perennial sun flower.
