    Hello,

My friend wanted my help identifying a shrub growing on Kingsway in Vancouver. The story goes: My friend's mother is Korean. Her mother was walking down the street one day past an autobody shop when she spotted a shrub that she says she only ever saw growing on some island in Korea. She collected the drupes (I have deduced this much from her description) and ate them without incident. I have promised my friend that if it grows outside an autobody shop on Kingsway, it is not as rare as her mother thinks. No flowers as of yet, but the leaves are looking very Oleaceous to me. You can see the flower buds clustered in the picture below. It is not in flower yet, but this is still much better than the bare twigs my friend used to introduce me to this. Any ideas? IDs?
