No idea what these are

    Noticed these plane-like structures at the edge of my photographs.

    What are these?

    I suspect something of plant origin - perhaps a seed bract or something along those lines? Hopefully a plant person will chime in here?

    I concur that all things are worth investigating! We err more by making assumptions about something - I think curiousity is a better way to go... :-)
    Plus I could be wrong...

    What do you think @wcutler - is this plant matter?

    Sorry, I'm not exactly a plant expert, and I have certainly never seen anything like those. I'd have assumed fungus as well.

    I am happy that you confirm my suspicion which I told my wife this morning. It does look like something from conifer cones. Thank you.
