I liked the photos of the trimmers at work. The Guinness hedge record holder is beech, shown at Meikleour Beech Hedges - Wikipedia. The House Beautiful article used the word "high" twice in its mention of this - it's the length that's 1740 feet. I two days ago saw a photo of a hedge said to be privet, not long and not as tall, but in context it's extraordinary. It was posted on Facebook at (8) Facebook. There were several comments guessing that it was to shield the house from headlights as cars came around the bend in the road, and from cars that didn't manage to execute the bend in the road.
