Hi there, I came to this forum in hopes that somebody would be ale to identify a plant from a description.

I have no idea whether this is a weed or something I actually planted but didn't remember. This plant is quite tall, it grew to nearly 6 feet by the beginning of autumn. It has red stalks like rhubarb only slimmer. The silhouette is much like that of a deciduous tree, one large stalk which branches higher up. The most notable features are bright fuchsia flowers, small and lacy, and big clusters of deep purplish-blue berries, slightly smaller than blueberries and quite firm, which the birds seem to like.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks in advance for any info.

    Check out Phytolacca (pokeweed).
