Hi, this is my first post,can someone tell me what these berries are? I have more pics if you need.A frien said that the berries were edible but I wouldnt eat them befor I id them.

 

Shepherdia I believe.

 

Looks like an Elaeagnus umbellata to me...

 

I was also thinking Elaeagnus, but not sure. The berries of both are edible.

 

You guys were right,I googled it and here is the plant.Thanks a lot,Now I can eat without worries.
I was going to plant some close to home, but I see that it is an invasive plant.

The two plants are similar except the seed is a light color on the autumn olive vs the buffaloberrys dark seed.The shapes are different to.

 

Leaves are different.
