I have recently moved to a small farm in west central Indiana. The previous owners definitely had green thumbs and there are a ton of plants. I was hoping to get some help identifying them so I can treat them right. Amy
Physocarpus opulifolius - one of the purple-leaved cultivars Weigela - one of the variegated cultivars Lamium 'Beacon Silver' Spiraea, perhaps one of the S. nipponica cultivars - although this is not even in bud here yet Ornithogalum umbellatum
Wow - that was impressive. Thanks for the instant gratification. Here are a few more if you have the time.
1&4 look to be Sedum, Coreopsis verticillata, variegated Willow (Salix), Sambucus nigra cv., and Oxalis (a weed). HTH Chris
The common willow like that is Salix integra 'Hakuro-nishiki' although there is also another similar one on the market now. The elder would be Sambucus nigra 'Eva' - being sold under the Black Lace trademark.
It might be worth it to dig up that Oxalis and have a look to see what the tubers look like. Compare to Oca tubers - if that's what you've got then it's also edible. If you let them sit out in the sun for a day, they taste better than potatoes.
