Mirabilis has fused petals and the stamens protrude. Maybe Phlox davidii?

Yes to phlox. The bees, butterflies and hummers love them in my garden.

    Phlox paniculata.

Phlox davidii is not a valid species name... there is however a white-flowered cultivar of Phlox paniculata called 'David'?

Ha, thanks abgardeneer, yes I think I had purchased P. paniculata 'David' under that incorrect name once and it stuck in my head.

Thank you very much. It was driving me crazy as I had not been able to locate it anywhere online.
