The following are plants that look like nettle to me, but i am almost certain they are not. They do not have the sharp spikes, instead the stems are covered in hairs. There is a similarity with nettle, though. There are no flowers, and right now they are about 2.5 feet high. This is in Western Massachusetts. I would like to know what type of plant this is, so any help is appreciated, thanks.
Leaf shape wrong for stinging nettles. Urtica dioica. http://images.google.com/imgres?img...n-gb:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7SUNA_en-GB&sa=G&um=1 Feel I should know it. Still thinking!
Goldenrod. Stems are not hairy, also veins are different. Still thinking! http://images.google.com/imgres?img...n-gb:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7SUNA_en-GB&sa=G&um=1 Please can you add a pic of the flowers when they open. That should help.
