I am trying to identify a wildflower I collected seeds from this fall. It has a very intricate leaf pattern and the flower buds are as beautiful and interesting as the flowers themselves.

We had drought this summer and it still managed to grow and produce seeds, so it appears drought tolerant. I am going to see next summer what it can do when it gets good conditions...water, good dirt, fertilizer, etc. It might be worth developing and sharing.

I've attached pictures of the flower, the flower bud, the seed pod and the whole plant (that one is zipped). Can anyone help?

Thank you so much. Turns out you are right on. Once I knew the name I could research it. Some love it...some hate it. To some it's a flower...to some an invasive weed. I'll proceed with caution.
