Hi everyone need help with 2 species of aster i found neer a river in southern Quebec. Pictures 77/78 for the first one and 79/80 for the second one. Thanks in advance for the help!
Both, definitely, Symphyotrichum; but which species - big question. The key for them involves small details of the bract structure and stem hairs and are much unreliable. The minor differences are often overlapped with the species variability and inter-species hybridization. I am also frustrated with our local collection of these asters.
