Hello, I live in Baltimore, MD and I am trying to identify a tree that had beautiful pink blooms in the spring... I have attached a photo of the leaves, because the flowers are all gone... the branches were thickly covered in small, light pink blooms that all seemed to hang down off the branches... the tree is about 15 feet high, the branches are not super compact but it is more of an ornamental-looking tree (forgive the layman's terms, here) and the bark is dark grey, amooth, silvery, kind of shiny, with black cracks...the closest I can get is either some kind of cherry or crabapple but the flowers of the cherry seems to have multiple stamens (?not sure if that is what they are) and the crabapple blossoms are not quite right either... I don't think it is a dogwood... any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, I was just stunned by the beauty of this tree and I would love to know what it is. Thank you!
