In The Garden: Need help in my new yard...flower

    I live on the coast of NC and have moved to a new place with a great yard. I'm having trouble identifying some great flowers that started popping up in September and are still blooming. It's a single stem with alternate leaves. I hope someone can help me.

    #1 might be a Camellia, and #2 looks sort of like an Argemone.

    Both of your plants look very much like Zinnia's to me.

    Thank you...they are both zinnias after looking through google images.

    I will have to have these every year now. I love the color in the beds in Oct here in NC...
