Hello there, I really hope someone here can help me. I just moved in with my girlfriend a month or so ago and noticed these (what I presume) is grapevines. They cover our entire back yard treeline, and I have not for the life of me been able to find out what kind they are. Let me post the pictures I took and hopefully someone can help. I live in Baytown, Texas not far from the coast. I tasted one of them but they tasted rather tart, and not quite as delicious as I had hoped they would be lol.
Thank you very much for the quick reply! I thought they that too..I looked online for some information on it and from what I read the porcelain berry starts off white in color and these started off green. Also, form what I read Porcelain berries tend to have deep lobes on the leaves and these don't. I'm pretty stumped, and no matter what they are the kiddos think it's pretty cool to have them lol.
Do you think it could possibly be a frost grape? That is the closest match I have found so far picture wise.
Porcelain berry is green at first like pretty much all fruits, variable leaves are often shaped like those shown - which is main reason I suggested it. As the fruits continue to develop it will become easier to tell what the plant is.
