    Hello All,

I was hoping to get some help in identifying a tree in my backyard in hopes to determine whether the berry from this tree is harmful to my pets.

    Thanks!

I would say Southern Magnolia (Magnolia Grandiflora), and thus apparently non-toxic. But Magnolia's berries come in clusters, and this one doesn't seem to be this way?.. Hopefully somebody else will pitch in.

Syzygium species; edible (for humans as well as dogs).
