Need help identifying this shrub

    My neighbour gave me this shrub and I have no idea what it is. Can anyone help? It is only about 3 feet high, but he cuts it down regularly. He says it blooms white. We live in Ontario, zone 5b.

    Not sure about Ontario. It certainly is invasive in warmer areas like much of the USA, but maybe not in zone 5.
