Hi, in clearing a fairly dense wooded area of my property I have come across a type of fruit that I cannot identify. I have attached pictures of the fruit as it is, cut in half and in half again, on the vine on which I found it and a flower that I found on the vine. I have not tasted the fruit, but it smells like a cucumber - watermelon mix. My sinuses have been mean to me lately so my sense of smell isn't the best, but I do know for sure that it doesn't smell very sweet say like a fig. From what I can tell about the fruit, it is firm much like an apple. The fruit is fairly juicy. the size is no more than 3" in length and 2.5" in width. I hope this is enough information to identify the fruit, but if not please ask because I'm very curious to what it is.

It's a Solanum or relative; reminds me of Naranjillas but it's not because those have white flowers. I wouldn't eat it until somebody turns up a definite ID; Solanums are in the nightshade family and it may be one of the inedible ones.

It looks like a Cucurbitaceae to me considering the markings on the fruit, the odor, yellow flower, raspy vine, and tendrils, but I don't know which one.
