we planted a healthy smallish 5' high Dogwood a few months ago- live in Nanaimo. The leaves that have come out are very small and some are turning brown around the edges. Any reason why this is happening or is this a normal thing for a new tree? It was planted according to the instructions, is watered regularly and is getting full sun. What are we doing wrong? My husband is a landscape gardener and is puzzled ( more concerned ) as well.
I have seen other newly planted Dogwoods that are flourishing......I'm hoping this little tree isn't on it's way out....:(

just responding to my own question- I think it was because of the fact that when we brought it home it was dry as a bone. Now that the tree is getting a bucket of water every three days it's new growth is coming out with no brown leaves. I think this dogwood is going to make it after all!
