I saw this neat plant from the trail at Skwaha Lake Ecological Reserve. Having never seen Veratrum viride, I immediately thought that was what I was looking at. But now looking back through my photos I am not sure, because the infloresence is not drooping. Can anyone confirm? I have no idea what else it would be

I first thought of Viratrum viride too but rejected that idea for the same reason as yours. Could it be Maianthemum racemosum subsp. amplexicaule aka False Solomon's Seal?

It could be. I have just never seen one this big. It is about 120 cm.
